How are teams formed?
Come with your own team, one that you created during Speed Dating, or we’ll help you find a team on Day One! Alternatively, join our Slack and message people there! Teams can have up to four members.
There’s a Slack? How do I join!?
Here’s the link! tinyurl.com/swehacks23slack
I’m worried because I have no prior experience with hackathons. Should I still come?
Absolutely! This is meant to be a welcoming space for learning, so everyone is welcome!
What am I supposed to build?
Any technological solution of your choice! This can be a Figma design for an application, a website, chrome extension, etc.
What do I submit?
Complete a devpost submission for your project, and include demos/pictures, a description, and a link to your solution.
Where can I find the criteria for judging and the prizes? And where do I submit?
You can find all that and more on our devpost page! Or, take a look at Devpost!
What does a typical day look like?
Go to our Agenda page to see both full days!
Will there be lunch provided?
Yes! There will be grab-and-go boxes on Saturday for everyone.
When is this hackathon taking place?
April 8th (9 AM to 9 PM) and 9th (9 AM to 1 PM)!
Any events I should look out for?
Plenty! We have Introduction to Figma for those of you who want to take a crack at design, and a women in tech panel where you can learn and ask questions from some really cool women! Take a look at the home page for a full list with more detail!
I have specific questions. Who do I ask?
Talk to anyone on the SWEHacks team! You can find our names on the Team page! Or find us during the Hackathon — we’ll be wearing SWE shirts!
Any tips or suggestions?
An oldie but a goodie: have fun! We want you to be able to take away a lot of new things from this hackathon, so focus more on collaborating with your friends, making connections, and learning from others. Treat this as a fun learning experience. And don’t hesitate to ask the SWEHacks committee anything! We’re here to help you have a good time :)
